Position Summary:

Forward Edge-AI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level III Programmatic Financial Expert with expertise in business automation to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) in managing program and project finances, focusing on budget performance and automating standardized functions within the AI Assessment & Assurance Division.

Responsibilities:

Program and Project Management:
  • Administer and oversee daily financial operations and project management functions
  • Develop comprehensive budget and project management tracking tools using advanced MS Excel techniques
  • Generate standard weekly and monthly financial slide decks to report consistent data points and track changes over time
  • Monitor contract burn down based on actual invoices and compare to perceived burn down using accounting system data
  • Support planning, developing, testing, and documenting projects, applying business process improvement practices and modernizing projects
Financial Management:
  • Maintain accurate financial information and ensure timely execution of requirements for current year funds.
  • Trace expenditures to projects and programs, ensuring burn down dates are apparent in standardized reports.
  • Assist in the development of POM, gap analysis, issue papers, and CAPE issue team justification briefings.

Business Automation:

  • Build strategies and create documentation on current organizational financial processes for potential automation.
  • Identify and suggest more efficient ways to manage the division’s finances and interactions with CDAO budget and acquisition teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any financial process malfunctions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Proactively engage with team members and government SMEs, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for leadership approval and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings to resolve financial issues with stakeholders and prepare leadership with recommended talking points.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6-10 years of experience, or a Master’s degree plus 5 years of experience.
Skills and Experience:
  • Mid to expert level proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions such as sum-if, linked tables, pivots, and slicers.
  • Experience working within agile frameworks, such as Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Strong initiative and self-starting attitude in developing novel approaches to execution and tracking.
  • Familiarity with high technology areas such as computer science, data science, autonomy, and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to generate and maintain financial reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Clearance: A Secret clearance is required.

Additional Requirements:

Location:

  • This position requires onsite work at the DC-area offices of the Chief Digital and AI Office in Falls Church, approximately 2-3 days per week after the first month of full-time onsite work.
  • Some travel to various CONUS locations may be required as determined by the Government Project Lead.

Security and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all security requirements, including completing Level I OPSEC Awareness training and maintaining a valid Secret clearance.
  • Comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) and operational security policies.
