Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Proposal Writer with deep expertise in Shipley Business Development and Proposal methodology to lead the development of winning, compliant, and customer-focused proposals. This individual will craft compelling narratives, drive color team reviews, and directly support Forward Edge-AI’s mission growth in defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors.

Major Duties/Tasks:

Proposal Development & Writing

• Lead development of proposal sections and volumes, ensuring 100% compliance with solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria
• Transform complex technical and business solutions into clear, persuasive narratives that highlight win themes, discriminators, and value propositions
• Apply Shipley best practices for structure, formatting, style, and graphics integration across all deliverables

Collaboration & Coordination

• Partner with Capture Managers, Proposal Managers, and SMEs to shape winning strategies
• Facilitate and actively participate in Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews; incorporate feedback into final deliverables
• Drive schedules and enforce milestones to maintain quality under tight deadlines

Quality & Compliance Assurance

• Develop and manage compliance matrices, ensuring every requirement is addressed
• Conduct editorial reviews for clarity, precision, and customer alignment
• Maintain version control and enforce consistency in style, tone, and formatting

Continuous Improvement & Mentoring

• Mentor junior writers on Shipley standards and proposal writing best practices
• Contribute to reusable templates, content libraries, and style guides
• Stay current on proposal automation tools, federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), and industry trends

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in government proposal writing
• 5+ years of experience in commercial proposal writing
• Demonstrated expertise in Shipley methodology throughout the BD lifecycle
• APMP Certification (Foundation level or above)
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with acute attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred:

• Experience with proposal automation tools.
• Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
• Prior experience supporting defense, intelligence, or federal contracting organizations.
