Position Summary

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to lead technical engagement throughout the sales lifecycle, from discovery to demonstrations and solution delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, proven pre-sales experience, and the ability to translate complex technologies into clear business value. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of federal acquisition processes, and the ability to engage confidently with both technical teams and executive leaders. The Sales Engineer will partner closely with account executives, capture teams, and solution architects to shape winning strategies and expand Forward Edge-AI’s impact across defense, intelligence, and commercial markets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer technical discovery sessions and requirements analysis
  • Design and present tailored solutions that align with mission needs and demonstrate measurable value
  • Deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical workshops
  • Translate technical capabilities into compelling business value propositions
  • Partner with account executives to shape capture and proposal strategies
  • Provide technical input for RFIs, RFPs, and proposals, ensuring compliance and competitiveness
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, building long-term relationships
  • Represent Forward Edge-AI at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
  • Maintain current knowledge of customer mission areas, competitive solutions, and emerging technologies
  • Develop expertise in AI/ML, cybersecurity, advanced analytics, and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC
  • Contribute to technical white papers, solution briefs, and reusable sales content
  • Support continuous improvement of sales engineering practices and methodologies

 

Qualifications

Required

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or in technical pre-sales
  • Demonstrated ability to close technical wins in partnership with sales teams
  • Experience with federal acquisition processes and technical contributions to proposals or bids
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence technical and executive decision-makers
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. and internationally
  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one

Preferred

  • Knowledge of AI/ML, cybersecurity, advanced analytics, or emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of quantum computing and its application
  • Prior experience delivering pilots, demos, or proof-of-concepts to federal or enterprise customers
  • Experience working with system integrators, OEMs, or channel partners
  • Familiarity with DoD and Intelligence Community missions and procurement environments
  • Track record of operating effectively in high-stakes, fast-paced sales cycles
